UFC Lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim champ Dustin Poirier met in London for the UFC 242 press conference.

Undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (27-0) stared across from interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier (25-5) for the first time as the pair addressed the media at the UFC 242 press conference in London.
Dustin Poirier has set his stall out to be the first man to defeat “The Eagle” and unify the lightweight belts.
Two champions are going in, one champion is coming out.
“We’ve got two guys on the pound-for-pound list. One of them’s undefeated, both of them are champions. Two champions are going in, one champion is coming out.” Poirier said

Nurmagomedov, who defeated Conor McGregor to win the lightweight belt made it clear he has his sights on Poirier’s new belt. The UFC introduced the new style belts (above) earlier this year.
“The only thing I understand is the new belt, he has a nice belt.” Nurmagomedov said after the press conference.
UFC 242 Nurmagomedov vs Poirier will take place at The Arena, Abu Dhabi on Sat 7 September. Tickets have sold out however, as announced during the press conference there will be limited hotel and ticket packages on sale soon.
